We Still Alive

To say that the last two years have been difficult is an understatement. We’ve lost family, we’ve lost friends, we’ve further lost our collective minds. We’ve lost jobs, we’ve lost touch with our humanity. Some of us may have even lost the will to go on.

Yet, we still alive.

Heroes died. The American Dream put its other foot in the grave. Trust died.

Yet, we still alive.

And with the life we have left, we’re making strides, we’re trying to make it work. We’re staring the still raging pandemic, war, poverty and climate diaster in the face, we’re staring death in the face with a smile. A weary, worn, I’ve seen some shit and might break into tears any minute now smile, but a smile nonetheless. We’re telling these jobs that have used us and spit us out no. We’re questioning everything we’ve been taught as true. We’re seeing that things are absolutely fucked, that the future is clearly uncertain, that we’ve been offered up as a sacrifice for capitalistic excess. The inmates are truly running the asylum and sanity is a precious commodity that is becoming more and more scarce as the days go on.

Yet, we still alive.

Cherish it.
